Formal office hours in LeConte 221 are MWF 10:45-11:45, TTh 10:50-11:50 or by appointment. If these hours aren't convenient, I am usually available to meet with you whenever I am in my offices. If you can't find me, send an e-mail, leave a voice mail, or put a note in my mailbox in LeConte 216.
Additional assistance is available from the statistics graduate students in the Stat Help Lab in LeConte 215A.

Statistics: Concepts and Controversies (6th Edition) by David Moore and William Notz, W. H. Freeman and Co., 2006. Clickers are not required.
You will need a calculator that computes square roots and squares.
Provide an integrated introduction to the basic statistical ideas that a person would encounter in everyday life.
Attend every class
Arrive on time for each class

The regulations in the code of student academic responsibility prohibit bribery, cheating, lying, plagiarism, and misuse of telephone information processing system. Violations can result in serious penalties including suspension from the University. A cope of the code is included in the Carolina Community.
We will do some of the calculations in this class using DoStat. DoStat is a course management system available on the web at http://www.dostat.com. To use DoStat, you will need to register as a student. It is free. To register:
1. Go to http://www.dostat.com and select STUDENTS.
2. Click on "Sign up now" and enter your USC Network username as the login. This can be found in VIP under Technology. If your USC Network username is not unique on DoStat, add a suffix such as "123" or "xxx".
3. In "Course reference", type the course reference number: DS-603.
4. Submit the requested information and you will be registered.
You must allow cookies and pop-up windows and have a recent Java plug-in installed. If you have problems, contact me immediately.
After registering, you will access DoStat by selecting STUDENTS and submitting your user-id and password.
You can use DoStat from any computer that has access to the internet. You will be provided a computer account through the College of Arts and Sciences. These accounts can be used in LeConte 124 and 303A.
