Prerequisite

STAT 513 and MATH 544 or STAT 712 or equivalent


My Expectations for You

Attend every class and be on time.

Review your notes - line by line - as soon as possible after each class and contact me if you do not completely understand everything we have done.

Attempt all homework.

Make it your goal to understand everything we do.


Grading

Exams

(40%) In class exams will be given on Tuesday, 9-25 and Thursday, 11-8.

Make-up exams will be given only in extreme circumstances.

Contact me in advance if you think your situation merits a make-up.

Homework

(30%) Unless stated otherwise, homework will be due on the Tuesday after it is assigned.

You are to receive no assistance on the homework. You may discuss the problems

with me. Late homework will be accepted only under extreme circumstances.

Final Exam

(30%) A comprehensive final will be given from 2:00 - 5:00 PM on Monday, December 10.


Grading Scale

A 90-100; B+ 86-89; B 70-85; C+ 65-69; C 50-64


The regulations in the code of student academic responsibility prohibit bribery, cheating,

lying, plagiarism, and misuse of telephone information processing system. Violations can

result in serious penalties including suspension from the University. A copy of the code

is included in the publication "Carolina Community".
