Rough Draft Guidelines
Introduction. Does the writer give sufficient background on the data? Do you understand what all the variables are measuring? Do you agree with the choice of variables included in the data set? Can you think of any others that should have been included?
Screening. Has the writer taken a good look at the data before trying any regression analyses? Is there multicollinearity? How will the writer handle multicollinearity problems?
Model selection. How does the writer choose independent variables before selecting a model for diagnosis?
Diagnostics. Does the writer need to transform the response or the independent variables? Does the writer need to include any interactions? Are any observations influential? How does the writer modify the analysis to account for these influential and outlying cases?
Model refinement. Are you satisfied with the writer's final model choice? How well did the writer's decisions made during the diagnostics phase work? Does the writer validate the final model? Does the writer discuss the final model of merely present a regression formula?
