Homework 4

  1. Modify 'srsmean' to be 'srstot' (you should need to modify only a couple lines of code), then do 4.4--sample and list 5 states--and 4.4a in Experiences with Real Data--sample and list 10 countries. Comment on the quality of your estimates. The data for 4.4 should be read in as a text worksheet with the default column header. The data for 4.4a should be read in as a text worksheet with the default column header.

  2. 4.12-4.14, 4.3 in Experiences with Real Data. Sample 5 states for 4.3 using the data from problem 4.4.

  3. 4.15, 4.16
