  1. Use the data for the 1971 draft lottery to see if the 1971 draft was fair. I would expect side-by-side boxplots and time series plots as well as any other approaches you would like.

  2. Problems 3.2, 3.4.
  3. Field Research. Suppose you needed to sample all first-year science undergraduates at USC. How would you obtain a frame? Describe the source of your frame and the format in which you could obtain it. How long would it take the source to provide you with the frame? Discuss any shortcomings of the frame. I encourage you to work in small groups to avoid annoying your data sources.
