Three Faculty Positions

The Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina
invites applications for three faculty positions, one at the rank of
Assistant Professor and two at open rank. Applicants for senior positions
should have an established and outstanding research record and evidence
of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Applicants for junior positions should show strong evidence of potential
for excellence.
Though all specialty areas will be considered, one position is expected
to be filled by a candidate with strength in probability and stochastic
processes, and a second by a candidate with strength in bioinformatics /
statistical genetics. Applicants with expertise in industrial reliability
or time series / econometrics are also particularly encouraged to apply.
The Department currently consists of twelve tenured/tenure-track faculty
and three full-time instructors. Current research interests of the faculty
include nonparametric and semiparametric statistics, reliability and survival
analysis, probability and stochastic processes, psychometrics and educational
measurement, simultaneous inference, mixed models, environmetrics, and
statistics education. More information about the University and the
