Online Statistics Courseware Using WebStat
WebStat is an online statistics package that runs in the context of a Web
browser in the form of a Java applet. The package has the basic set of
routines that are typically covered in an introductory statistics course.
WebStat has been class tested at many institutions around the world. To
this point, WebStat has primarily been adopted by energetic instructors who
take the time to redo course materials to incorporate the package. As part
of a grant funded by the National Science Foundation, we have began to
develop online courseware around WebStat that makes it very easy for
instructors to make the move to the Web-based environment. A basic version
of the courseware will be demonstrated, and plans for future development
will be discussed.
